Why You Should Move to St. Pete Beach, FL Right Now

If you've ever thought about what it might be like to buy a home on the beach and live out your days in the sunshine, we can relate at Sandy Hartmann & Associates. Not only do we live and work within minutes of some of the world's best beaches, we specialize in finding homes in just the right neighborhoods of Tampa Bay, FL.

Today, I wanted to spotlight St. Pete Beach, FL specifically. Our real estate team has helped so many home buyers find their dream homes in St. Pete Beach over the years, that it seemed like a great idea to shed some light on why this little beach town in Florida is one of the greatest places you'll ever live in.

St. Pete Beach real estate is a hot commodity right now for several reasons:

  1.  The climate- there is NO SNOW and Pinellas County, FL rarely gets inclement weather worthy of an evacuation. Yes, we are in a hurricane zone, but it's been years since the City of St. Pete Beach has been directly hit with a hurricane and when one is coming, there is always plenty of time to prepare (think days here). Many of the homes are also fitted or can be fitted with hurricane shutters and the majority of homes around the beaches consist of concrete block construction, making them structurally superior in many ways.

  2. Jobs- Tampa, FL and the City of St. Petersburg are both within a convenient driving distance, booming with job opportunities right now due to the growing financial, medical and technology industries in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. St. Pete Beach, FL is also home to a number of hospitality companies (Hotels, Inns, Restaurants, etc) along the beaches, so tourism jobs are not hard to come across if that's your passion. If you travel a lot in your profession, you'll be happy to know that Tampa Int'l Airport (TPA) is also within a 45 minute or less drive from St. Pete Beach, FL.

  3. Activities- There is always an event to attend in the City of St. Pete Beach. Pass-a-Grille Beach is home to many different events throughout the year, features live music on the beach on many weekends, and even has a small daily flea market right next to the public beach access. The surrounding restaurants and hotels also offer many events throughout the year to keep you busy. And with the white, sandy beaches just steps away, there's always a good opportunity for skim boarding, snorkeling, swimming, renting jet skis, and many other fun outdoor activities.

Still need to be convinced? Check out this Blog in the New York Times about this writer's experience in St. Pete Beach, FL for 36 hours. I think you'll agree that she had no problem finding a variety of activities and wonderful places to visit (and dine at).
