One of the most famous St Pete Beach landmarks is the Historical Don CeSar Hotel right on the beach. This beautiful 'pink castle' on the sand, which opened in 1928, has a varied history, from being the top hotel at the height of prohibition (think Great Gatsby) to becoming a military hospital in the 1940's, a government office, and finally restored back to its original elegance in the 70's. It is now a Loew's Hotel Group member and remains one of the prettiest hotels in the U.S.
Other highlights of St Pete Beach include the Corey Avenue Sunday Morning Market, Dolphin sight-seeing cruises (if you haven't already seen them right from the beach!), and visiting some of the best seafood restaurants on the beaches (like Snappers Sea Grill- you won't be sorry!).
St Pete Beach is also in close proximity to Downtown St Pete, Tampa International Airport, and Gulfport.
