3 of Our Favorite Tampa Bay Area Restaurants

New to town? Looking for some great places to get you acquainted with the Tampa Bay area? What if you could have an excellent breakfast in St. Pete Beach, enjoy grouper sandwiches and calamari for lunch in Clearwater Beach, and go out to dine in Downtown St. Pete for dinner and cocktails? We just happen to know some of the best dining spots in Tampa Bay…

Breakfast on the Beach

Compass Grille Restaurant | 5300 Gulf Blvd, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

Located inside the Sirata Beach Resort in St Pete Beach, the Compass Grille Restaurant is known for its fun, but casual dining atmosphere on St. Pete Beach. The restaurant is often readily available to accommodate you and your date, a group of friends, or families with children. As for the dress code, feel free to dress casually and start your day on St. Pete Beach with a hardy breakfast!

Bountiful breakfast choices at this St. Pete Beach landmark include the ‘Healthy Start,’ which includes fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt sauce, and a scrumptious blueberry muffin. If yogurt’s not your thing, try the large bowl of granola topped with bananas, strawberries and vanilla soy milk, or the eggs benedict- offered Florida style…Other breakfast offerings at this St. Pete Beach gem include omelets, breakfast sandwiches, waffles and pancakes, & more! Check out the full breakfast menu, by clicking here.

Not only does this St. Pete Beach restaurant serve delicious breakfast, dinner is also great and there is an excellent choice of drinks, with a fully stocked bar. The Chocolate Covered Strawberry beverage is a favorite, made with delicious Godiva Chocolate Liquor. A nice selection of wine is also available.

And don’t forget to leave a room for dessert, we recommend the homemade Key Lime Pie or Bananas Foster for two (bananas sautéed in brown sugar, cinnamon, and dark rum, served with vanilla ice cream- what’s not to love?!).

Frenchy’s South Beach Café | 351 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33767

This casual Clearwater Beach restaurant is located on the ever-popular Clearwater Beach Walk, complete with beautiful ocean views and outdoor dining options.

Friends and family alike will enjoy dining on superb grouper sandwiches, savory bacon wrapped scallops, famous crab soup, along with shrimp, clam, or grouper nuggets. For the kids, they’ll be happy to know there are also tasty chicken finger baskets and freshly made fries available as well. For salad enthusiasts, there’s an excellent choice of refreshing salads, including almond encrusted grouper salad, or top any of their other salads with a choice of Mahi Mahi, Shrimp, Grouper, Calamari or Chicken.

Dinner and Cocktails

Cassis American Brasserie | 170 Beach Drive, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Exceptional service and dining are simply a way of life at Cassis American Brasserie, conveniently located in Downtown St. Pete, where French cuisine combined with American cuisine results in a great menu with many gluten free and vegetarian alternatives in Downtown St. Pete. Cassis American Brasserie also has an excellent bar, voted the best happy hour in Tampa Bay.

Walkable from many of the Downtown St. Pete condos and waterfront properties, this restaurant always has a pretty decent crowd, but radiates the mellow, casual vibes the Downtown St. Pete area has become known for. Brunch and Lunch are served daily in this Downtown St. Pete landmark, with dinner served from 4pm to 10pm during the week, and extended hours until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

For dinner, the Blackened Gulf Grouper with a side of black bean puree and avocado is absolutely delicious (and gluten free!). The same can be said for the Jumbo Prawns and Scallops or the Maple Leaf Farm Duck Breast.

If you still have room for dessert, enjoy the simply delightful Parisian-style macarons, plus house-made ice cream and sorbet. Need a treat or a dessert to go? Don’t forget that there’s an amazing bakery next door, with fresh baked buttery croissants, ice cream and gelato, and even custom-ordered wedding cakes available!

Lastly, Cassis American Brasserie is pet friendly and there is a dog menu available for your four legged companions.

Looking for reservations to avoid a long wait? Thankfully, Cassis American Brasserie also accepts reservations via OpenTable.com as well! Enjoy!
