Cities With The Highest And Lowest Property Tax Rates In Pinellas County

Find Out Which Cities Have the Highest and Lowest Property Tax Rates in Pinellas County

With 2018/2019 property tax rates being released this summer for many of the cities in Pinellas County, we thought it would be helpful to let you know which cities have the lowest property tax (millage) rates in the county.

The results might surprise you, but can help you save money when shopping for a home. In some cities, the millage rates are 174% higher than others, even though they’re just minutes away from one another. That can add up on your annual property tax bill or drive up your monthly mortgage payment if the mortgage company also escrows taxes and insurance for you.

Here’s what we have found for the 2018/2019 property tax rates:

LOWEST Property Tax Rates in Pinellas County (amount listed below is per $1,000 of property tax value):

  1. Belleair Shores- $.69 (Under a buck! But remember, this city only has just over 40 homes in it.)

  2. North Redington Beach- $1

  3. Redington Shores- $1.80

  4. Redington Beach- $1.81 (possibly lower, this is a tentative amount so far for 2018/2019)

  5. Indian Rocks Beach- $1.83

  6. Indian Shores- $1.87

  7. Belleair Beach- $2.04

  8. Unincorporated Pinellas County- $2.09

  9. Palm Harbor- $2.09 (Adopts County Tax Rate)

  10. Pinellas Park- $2.09 (Adopts County Tax Rate)

  11. Madeira Beach- $2.20

  12. City of Seminole- $2.48

HIGHEST Property Tax Rates in Pinellas County

  1. St. Petersburg- $6.76 (Often the highest in Pinellas County!)

  2. Belleair- $6.50

  3. Clearwater- $5.95

  4. Largo- $5.74

  5. Belleair Bluffs- $5.57

  6. Tarpon Springs- $5.42

  7. Kenneth City- $4.76

  8. Dunedin- $4.13

  9. Oldsmar- $4.05

  10. Gulfport- $4.04

  11. Safety Harbor- $3.95

  12. St. Pete Beach- $3.15
