Annata Wine Bar-Downtown St. Petersburg- This family-owned wine bar prides itself on locally sourced ingredients from Bay Area farms and suppliers. Think delicious, generously proportioned tapas plates and a vast wine list that will please even the most discriminating palates. We recommend the charcuterie platters that allow guests to choose from an elaborate selection of meats, cheeses and pate. The Lamb Ragu and Sweet Potato Gnocchi small plates will have your mouth watering before you ever even see the dessert menu... This ever-popular location doesn’t take reservations, so be sure to get there early on weekend evenings or prepare to wait for a table. (But don’t worry, the location can’t be beat and a small wait is a great opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings of Beach Drive)

Snapper’s Sea Grill- St. Pete Beach- Looking for a great seafood restaurant without all the touristy flare? Then this is your place! Snapper’s offers a delightfully peaceful, but very cosmopolitan atmosphere right down the street from some of the area’s best beaches. This is a perfect place for a date night out or just a generally tasty meal. Their #1 dish is the Wasabi Crusted Tuna dinner entrée and we agree that it’s hard to beat. We also loved the Gulf to Bay Oysters and Blue Crab Stuffed Portobello from the appetizers list. They offer early-bird specials as well in case you want to dine early and catch the sunset at one of the nearby beaches after.

Noble Crust- St. Petersburg- This eclectic restaurant will indulge your internal foodie from the moment you take a peek at their somewhat adventurous drink menu. We love the Blackberry Bramble to get started off, and even though you can make reservations, we prefer to sit at the bar for dinner (and an opportunity for some great recommendations from the bartender).  For food, try to the Noble Pig house-made pizza (2 can share this) and the crispy grouper sliders from the ‘Starters + Sharing’ menu. You won’t be sorry…They also serve a somewhat amazing brunch on weekends that involves indulgent dishes such as a short rib benny and a not-so-classic take on Chicken & Waffles.

Besito Mexican Restaurant- Tampa- Ok, ok, we know this is over the bridge, but trust us, if you live inPinellas County and want to try some DELICIOUS Mexican food, this is the place to start. A social, but peaceful ambiance welcomes you as soon as you walk into the door of this unexpectedly wonderful restaurant. To start, they take reservations, but if the bar area or last minute dining is your thing, there’s a large cocktail and bar that typically has plenty of seating available. The margarita list has a wide selection of choices for the tequila cocktail lovers out there, and the traditionally made sangria is some of the best we’ve had. For appetizers, be sure to try the tableside prepared guacamole (enough for 3 people), Flautas De Pollo, and their take on one of the best crab cakes you’ll ever have. If there’s any room left for dinner, the Shrimp Tacos are unbeatable and the Costillas AL Piquin (Boneless Beef Short ribs). Since you likely won’t have any room for dessert, be sure to get an order of churros to go- they keep until morning and will make your coffee go down twice as nice!

Red Mesa Cantina- Downtown St. Pete- For all you Mexican food lovers that don’t want to cross the Howard Frankland Bridge, there is another great option in Downtown St. Pete. We love it for dinner, but actually prefer the weekend brunch the most. Can’t miss items on the dinner and brunch menu are the Ceviche of the day, chips and house salsa (addictive, be careful here), and the duck quesadilla (mouth wateringly delicious). The sangria is delicious and even better by the pitcher if you’re feeling ambitious, and the churros will send you into diabetic shock with Mexican chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. If you get there early on a nice day, definitely take advantage of the outdoor patio seating around the fountain.
